Revival is the word of the decade in Lebanon, but it doesn’t just pertain to the reemergence of the city. Crystal, in Ashrafieh, has taken over what used to be Circus and refurbished it to create a club combining elements of the funky and elegant, to make a perfect haven for the nightlife of Beirut. Styled to the décor of the prohibition period of the US in the early 20th century, the club has an overly stylized ambience, complete with Venetian, theatre style curtains and dominant mirrors above the bar. Chrome and metal also take a big part of creating the periods decadent atmosphere. Crystal offers its clients comfortable and spacious surroundings while listening to a great selection of ‘happy house’, which is, to those unfamiliar with the term, the French house, which is more upbeat and uplifting. On some nights, a little Arabic is fused into the air. Crystal's specialties are their innovative champagne cocktails and grilled shrimps with udon noodles in a special sake sauce.

However, this is not the only delicious thing on the menu; the cuisine is European in style, but has a touch of fusion to add, giving you an interesting combination of styles to suit your taste. Crystal has a lot of plans for the upcoming summer, but with their events announced only a short time before, you’ll have to keep your ear to the ground to keep up to speed with one of the most talked about clubs around town.
